Here at Faughanvale Primary School we have been developing our school grounds and outdoor learning facilities to make them fun, stimulating and creative places to be. We have created multi-sensory play areas for children of all ages and have promoted creative, imaginative and free play. 

 In our School Grounds we have:

An Eco Garden   

Thanks to the, 'Awards for All'  Scheme we were able to create our own Eco and Sensory Garden which has helped us achieve our Green Eco Award Flag. Our garden consists of:

• Outdoor classroom and performance area. 
• Wooden bird houses.
• Digging areas.
• Raised beds for children to grow flowers, fruit and vegetables. 
• Textured paths.
• Bamboo walkway. 
• Friendship and Picnic benches. 
• Pond and wildlife area.
• Water butt for watering all our plants

A Foundation Stage Play Trail

Thanks to the work of Hawthorn Heights we have created a Foundation Stage play trail which consists of a climbing frame, rope ladder and slide. Our children in Primary 1 and 2 are delighted with their new area and are enjoying exploring all it has to offer.

A Key Stage 1 and 2 Play Trail

We have an obstacle course play trail for Key Stage 1 and 2 consisting of monkey bars, balancing beam, tyre swing, climbing wall and net. The children are thoroughly enjoying the challenge of this obstacle course and reap the benefits when it comes to fitness.

Playground Markings and Outdoor Equipment 

Our playground is now full of markings and murals on the walls making it a colouful, child friendly and interactive place to be. We also have a variety of outdoor equipment and toys which the children use at play time to develop their teamwork and social skills.
