STEM Paper Airplane Challenge
19th Oct 2023
Primary Seven have been working incredibly hard since the beginning of the school. The class have been working very hard with their numeracy and literacy in preparation for their Transfer Test. However, we have also spent time studying the topic of Flight.
This week, pupils had the opportunity to apply their knowledge and understanding of flight in a "STEM Paper Airplane Challenge." Pupils were given three attempts to create the perfect paper airplane, recording their results from each airplane and outlining the improvements they could make.
On Thursday afternoon, the pupils gathered in the Muga Pitch for the final paper airplane throw. Anna O'Connor created the winning airplane after throwing further than any of her classmates.
This was a fantastic learning opportunity for the pupils and we will have many more throughout this year. Stay tuned to the school website for more updates.
