Today in Numeracy we had great fun using the Izak9 problem solving cubes. This brilliant resource promotes both collaboration and problem solving. Our class was divided into three groups, which each group getting a wall of 9 cubes to answer the questions from the interactive whiteboard.
The children were challenged to think of different ways to solve problems and then to discuss their ideas and strategies. The children performed a variety of challenging and enjoyable tasks based on numbers, shapes, fractions and colours.
Who said Maths wasn't fun?
