P6 Class Trip
1st Jun 2018
Today the pupils travelled to St. Aidan's Forest in Magilligan. Michael from the Magilligan Field Centre was our guide for the day and he was fantastic. Michael taught the our pupils how to measure the height, girth and canopy size of trees, and showed us the wide variety of fauna on display. The pupils carried out an invertebrate sweep and identified the different creatures in the forest's ecosystem. The children learnt that the biodiversity in the natural, deciduous ecosystem is much richer than that of the man - made coniferous forest.
