What an excellent day of Gaelic games it was today at Faughanvale P.S. The school fielded both a hurling and girls Gaelic football team in the North Derry Cumann na mBunscol indoor tournament.
Our Hurling team performed admirably and narrowly missed out on qualification for the county final. We are so proud of the progress that our hurling team are making. Thank you to Donall McNicholl for his role in promoting hurling in the school and for driving all the players to the game today on the club.
Our girls’ team put in a heroic shift today to finish top of a strong group of eight teams. Our girls will now represent North Derry at next month’s County Finals Day. To top the day off, our girls got a picture with Derry senior footballer Shane McGuigan. Well done girls and roll on the county finals.
