Lunchtime League Final
On Monday, the KS2 pupils played took to the pitch for the Lunchtime League final. It was a clash of the titans as the high-scoring Kerry faced off against the magnificent Dublin.
The game was incredibly tight in the early stages of the game with both sides exchanging scores. Tomas McCloskey and Dara King were a constant headache for Kerry defender throughout the day and both kicked several key scores. Lily-Mae McLaughlin provided several key games throughout the game to keep Dublin in the match.
In the second half, the Kerry team took control of the game and built up a healthy lead. Cara O’Donnell was at the heartbeat of all the great Kerry football. Rebecca Feeney kept things tidy in the back line and Aideen Keys was a constant threat in the forward line.
Blake Cooper kicked a massive score in the final minute to pull Kerry away and secure an All-Ireland victory. Blake was also the winner of the prestigious “Player of the Tournament” award. Blake is constantly improving in his skills and has a fantastic attitude to Gaelic football.
Congratulations to all the boys and girls on yet another fantastic lunchtime league final. Next up is the KS1 lunchtime all Ireland. Stay tuned for updates.
